Transactional database performance and cost analysis of the Dell EMC PowerEdge R7515 and the HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen10 in VMware vSAN ReadyNode clusters2 min

Principled Technologies conducted hands-on transactional database testing of two current-generation VMware vSAN™ ReadyNode™ clusters: one equipped with three single-socket Dell EMC™ PowerEdge™ R7515 servers powered by AMD EPYC™ 7502P processors, and the other outfitted with three dual-socket HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen10 servers powered by Intel® Xeon® Gold 6240 processors. To serve as a baseline reference, we also tested a VMware vSAN cluster composed of three five-year-old HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen9 servers powered by Intel Xeon E5-2680 v3 processors.
