IDC’s research with companies having fewer than 500 employees demonstrates that organizations replacing their servers every three years will see a total cost advantage of $1,300 to $8,300 per server when compared to more lengthy replacement cycles. A company with 250 employees running 50 business applications on five servers will reduce their total cost of ownership for server operations by 16% compared to a six-year replacement cycle.
