TCO Report- Traditional Splunk Environment vs Splunk SmartStore

In this paper, we will compare the economics of a traditional Splunk environment using local storage plus SAN/NAS to the newer Splunk SmartStore environment using Cloudian® HyperStore®—Cloudian’s on-premises S3-compatible storage solution. Using a realistic case study scenario, we will configure both solutions to index 1TB of data per day and retain the data for a period of three years. Then, we will analyze the total cost of ownership (TCO) to determine which approach is the most cost-effective for current as well as future Splunk storage needs.
